Study shows some people may be naturally, unconsciously honest. [Sep. 5th, 2009|10:16 am]
Hm... seriously... that's my problem right there.
I can't lie in interviews - lies that some people may excuse themselves by saying they only embellished their experience, or that everyone else does it too, so it's only fair.

I can't lie to my partner, and in work I've been known to tell my boss (only rarely!), that I couldn't concentrate and have been surfing the net.

I can lie - but it's hard not to twitch, or blink, or squeak out of the stress of the deception.

Now I may have found the reason - it's hard wired!

Divorce main reason for male suicide... [Sep. 5th, 2009|10:32 am]
I'm not sure how accurate the stats are in this post, but if they're true - guys the world over are getting shafted in divorce.
That's 60% of marriages that fail too...

It's scary and shocking that kids could go to a crack/coke head alcoholic, spendaholic mother, than the farther that's leaving her in an attempt to protect the kids...

Scariest chart ever? [Sep. 5th, 2009|10:44 am]
In 1948, consumers had almost do debt. Now they have it coming out of their ears.
The unemployment rate, meanwhile, is now the highest it has been in 26 years.

I wonder how much of a problem the personal debt will be to the recovery?
I'm fascinated...

There's an interesting bit here about production outpacing peoples ability to buy the stuff. You know, because wages weren't increasing, people couldn't buy the stuff fast enough to support the businesses. Instead way too much of the extra profit was skimmed off - ironically cutting the businesses life blood... purchasing power of workers.

Female on male violence? Surely it's impossible! [Sep. 5th, 2009|07:26 pm]
Here's a daydream, a muse, just some random thoughts on the current situation:

Guys - being the stronger sex (think the Olympics... the sexes are separated because of it)... are supposed to be able to handle themselves - especially against other guys of similar strength.

It's important for a guy, it's part of what defines his masculinity perhaps... It's what women find attractive when they say "Oh, I feel safe in my boyfriends arms!"

So when one gets pwned by the 'fairer sex', it undermines his masculinity. In a way he's feminised.

You're then looking at a completely emasculinised looser. Undeserving of pity for being weak, and undermining his own masculinity...

Or totally not?

A really big baseball bat is a great leveller for either sex...
