"Edlington is a mining community which will always be a close knit community. People do help one another... "
Councillor Georgina Mullis, who represents Edlington and Warmsworth ward, appears to be ignorant of the youth growing up there:
"Local residents told BBC News they believed the two boys (aged 9 and 11) had been hit with a brick, slashed with a knife and burned with cigarettes."
"Two boys, aged 10 and 11, were arrested on nearby allotments, police said."
If this is what gets noticed - imagine the low level violence that doesn't get reported everyday.
It's just an isolated incident, right?
Four in 10 teachers have faced verbal or physical aggression from a pupil's parent or guardian, according to the Association of Teachers and Lecturers.
Bad manners and violence seem to be snowballing with each new generation.
I wonder what the next 100 years will bring?
